Leaf springs don’t work too well when it comes to corner carving, so they were replaced by Ride Tech’s triangulated 4 link and coil over setup. Although this is a bolt in kit, we opted to weld all the bracketry in place, then tied the cage into the forward most mounting points of the upper bars.
Big tires mean big traction, but unlike drag racing, an increased track width also helps. The 335’s and 17"x12" CCW 3 piece wheels stick out quite a bit from this old iron. After cutting the lips back, we installed a set of poly flares for the time being. These will work to get the car on the road this season, but next off season the plan is a set of custom steel flares….stay tuned.
